podcast & artist book ideas

I’ve been thinking of ideas for a podcast ever since I saw it on our syllabus the first day of class. Like I said in my previous post, I’m a big fan of podcasts, I thought it would be fun to make one. I had never heard of an artist book until we were unassigned the project so I had no interest in making one. After I looked at the examples you provided us, I completely changed my mind and was able to come up with something worth making.

idea #1: Podcast

“Too long, didn’t read”

Imagine, you’re on you daily commute to class when you realize you forgot to do the reading for class today *gasp*! What do you do? You only have like 15 minutes before class starts. Don’t worry, just see if it’s on “Too long, didn’t read”: the podcast created by English students for English students. In this podcast, English students break down the readings most frequently covered in an English class. From A Tale of Two Cities to “The Yellow Wallpaper”, we do it all in 10 minutes or less.

idea #2: Artist Book

untitled (for now)

To be honest, I started scrapbooking in my free time about a month ago so this project is right up my alley. I don’t where I got the idea to do this so I don’t have as cool of an intro as I did for my podcast idea. For my artist book I want to create different collages showcasing the versatility of African american hair using pictures of myself and my family (mostly myself). My hair is something that I’ve always been proud of so I think it would cool to share it’s beauty with other people.
